We visited Baranti of Purulia district in the mid of January of 2023. It's mainly famous for serene nature, beautiful Baranti lake and hills around the place.

How to reach: Nearest railway station is Asansol Junction. From there you can get local train to Muradi or book cab to reach Baranti Lake side.

Best time to Visit: The place is best during winter and rainy season. During Christmas and new year there are some tribal activities go on in various resorts as well, so you can plan accordingly.

Following is the Tour Plan

Day 1:

We arrived at Baranti and check into your hotel and have some rest.

In the afternoon visites the Baranti Hill Viewpoint to get a panoramic view of the area.

Later went for walk around the Baranti Eco-Tourism Village, an eco-friendly village showcasing local culture and lifestyle.




Day 2:

Ont he next day of tour, visited Garpanchakot where you can witness the history of Bagri attack of 18th century. There are ruins of Rajprasad and Mandir still available.

After that You can head to Panchet Dam the last of 4th multipurpose dam by DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation).

After driving through Panchet dam, next destination will be Maithon Dam. Here you can enjoy boating in the Damodar river. 75% of the dam in Jharkhand and rest in Bengal.

After that visit kalyaneshwari temple near Maithon dam.







Day 3:

In the morning start with visiting the Joychandi Pahar Trek, a popular trekking spot near Baranti

Then come down to Baranti and visit the Adivasi Museum, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the tribal communities in the region.

Visit the Baranti Rajbari, a historic palace from the 19th century.

Explore the nearby tribal village of Taltore, famous for its traditional weaving and handicrafts.




Baranti tour is weekend destination nearby Kolkata, West Bengal.
